Beware of Online Home Value Estimation Tools
I think Zillow is a great resource for home buyers to begin a home search, but I would never recommend that anybody use the website instead of a professional Realtor.
The way that Zillow estimates your home value is that they take your county tax records and then apply an algorithm that they think will tell you what your home is worth. The people at Zillow have certainly never been in your home and aren't aware of upgrades or modifications. Unfortunately, you can never trust a Zestimate. More often than not, they are wrong.
